Finally Famous…nah Just the Intro.

It took me six years to graduate from college (2014). I changed my major about 4 times. I had my first child at 21 and my second at 24. When I walked across the stage I was already four months pregnant. I have two “baby daddies” (insert shrugging emoji). I was raised by a single mom and I’m starting to believe I’m curse with “I don’t NEED a man” trait. I’m currently a single mother and a self proclaim “really fucking great parent”.


I think writing this very first blog post has been the hardest thing I’ve done since deciding to start Young, Black, and Parenting – a lifestyle brand for young, black, parents of course! I’ve struggled with the direction in which I would like to take the brand and I’m still figuring out exactly how to reach my target audience and exactly who they are.

After much thought and many rewrites I’ve decided to go with this. This blog is for millennial parents, the well off and the poor. This blog is for single moms and dads trying to make it. This blog is for high school sweethearts with new families and newly weds thinking about kids. This blog is for the young parents who take their roles as leaders seriously. This blog is for those who really try hard to do the best they can with what they have.cropped-image11.jpg
